Apprenticeship with Toshiko Takaezu
Quakertown, New Jersey, 2004-2005
Lived one year with Toshiko (b. 1922) at her home and studio in New Jersey working for her full-time. The apprenticeship involved assisting with her work, gardening, maintenance and friendship as well as making my own work. As amazing as life may be, I am quite confident that nothing will ever compare to the beautiful and hard-working year I spent living with this dedicated artist. Through assignment and osmosis learning was constant.
